natures organic compost rabbit fertilizer

My name is Charles Roberts;  I am a volunteer master gardener in the state of Mississippi.

Several years ago I became aware of the benefits of using rabbit droppings as a potential fertilizer.

My lady friend had a pet rabbit named Buddy. Buddy was a beloved house pet,

and a prolific little pooper. Buddy had deposited piles of poop in his box.

Fortunately, rabbit droppings do not carry an offensive odor and is not mushy.

I since learned that rabbit excrement is rich in protein and for nourishment during the winter months,

rabbits in the wild will eat their own poop. Of course my first reaction was gross. Yuck!

but in a rare flash of brilliance,  I decided to take advantage of mother nature's gift.

I made a special elixir and began to fertilize several dormant rose bushes in my yard.

To my amazement in a few short weeks the roses sprang back to life.

The result was an abundance of beautiful, colorful new roses.

Today, my flower and vegetable gardens are the envy of the neighborhood!
